Georgia Underground Supply
On November 18, the Addison Economic Development team visited Georgia Underground Supply (GUS) to celebrate their recent relocation and growth in Addison. Having moved from Carrollton to Addison in May 2023, GUS operates from their newly acquired property and employs 15 team members. The visit highlighted GUS's significant role in the utility construction sector as one of the largest wholesale suppliers of products for overhead and underground construction.
Specializing in utility construction materials for telephone, CATV, gas, electric, sewer, and water industries, GUS supplies HDPE and PVC pipe, handholes, fiber optic cable and supplies, tools and equipment, safety supplies, and wear parts. They also stand out for their expertise in repairing and selling Korean-based “Inno” splicing equipment, manufactured by a company headquartered in Farmers Branch.
While they primarily serve wholesale clients, GUS also welcomes the public to their store, offering many of the tools and supplies typically found in large retail stores.
During the visit, the Economic Development team met with GUS leaders, including Matt Benhart and Jack Swearengin, who shared their vision for continued growth in Addison. GUS’s commitment to innovation and service, coupled with their strategic investments, makes them a valuable addition to Addison’s business community and strengthens the town’s economic landscape, aligning with Addison’s vision for fostering business success and community growth.
